Today, we turned our attention to the weather!
We headed out to the park to observe the weather around us, using our observation skills to notice what was happening in the environment. After lunch, we repeated our observations back at school to see whether anything had changed throughout the day.
The children also explored different words to describe the weather and temperature, including warm, cool, hot, and cold.
One of the lovely moments was hearing the children reason through their observations: “It’s not hot, but it’s not cold, so it must be warm!
By observing their surroundings, discussing what they noticed, and choosing the right words to describe their findings, the children practised critical thinking, communication, and English language skills in a meaningful, hands-on way.

What Is Hail?

One question sparked lots of curiosity today: What is hail?
The children were fascinated by the idea of ice falling from the sky and came up with plenty of questions. We explored the topic together, discovering that hail is made of balls or lumps of ice that fall from clouds during certain storms.
It was wonderful to see how one simple question led to further exploration and new discoveries. Moments like these encourage children to ask questions, investigate ideas, and develop a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Learning Through Curiosity and Discovery

From sharing weekend adventures to observing the weather and investigating hail, our Monday was filled with opportunities to explore, think, and communicate.
At Beyondia Mita, we value children’s natural curiosity and encourage them to ask questions, share their ideas, and discover answers through hands-on experiences. Through our inquiry-based approach to learning, everyday moments become meaningful opportunities to develop critical thinking, communication, and a love of learning.
We look forward to more wonderful discoveries with our little learners!
